Hayley Orrantia is the American performer, songwriter and actress. One of her most well-known characters can be Erica Goldberg who stars in The Goldbergs, an American comedy show. But she is primarily an avid music fan. She maintains that music is her primary passion. She has been dabbling with since she was nine years old. When she was 12 years old, music was taken seriously enough to warrant professional training. When she was 13 when she began writing her own music. Her first cover album didn't come out until fourteen years later. Since then there has been nothing but positive. Orrantia was raised in the USA but has Hispanic origins. While she grew up with solely English and has never lived in Mexico she's very proud of her Hispanic culture. She endeavours to keep it alive by studying Spanish as well as writing songs using the language. One such song is "Hasta Verte," a song she recorded in Spanish. Orrantia was picked to perform for The X Factor's first season during the summer of 2011. Orrantia had been selected by a panel of YouTube videos and got an average of four "yeses," from judges in Seattle in the live audition stage. The first time she was auditioning for soloist, she along with three female singers were grouped together for the remaining auditions during "Hollywood Week". The live shows were held in the 5th week.
